Fashion Rocks first took New York Fashion Week by storm in 2004 and it still remains the hottest ticket of the season. Condé Nast Media Group celebrates the fifth anniversary of Fashion Rocks with an unprecedented line-up of performers including: Beyoncé, Black Eyed Peas, Chris Brown, Duffy, Justin Timberlake, Keith Urban, Kid Rock, Mariah Carey and Rihanna among others. The legendary Radio City Music Hall will once again play host to the star-studded live event on September 5, 2008, celebrating the powerful relationship between fashion and music. The concert will air the following Tuesday night, September 9, 2008 in a two-hour special on the CBS television network (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT). Proceeds from the event will benefit Stand Up To Cancer.

Usher, who already was lined up to perform at the 2008 BET Awards, will be adding two big name artists to his performance of “In This Club.” In what was originally supposed to be a surprise, we have now learned that Beyonce and Lil’ Wayne will be performing the remixed version of the song with the chart-topping R&B singer. According to That Grape Juice, Lil Wayne spilled the beans in a recent interview with one of the urban XM satellite radio stations.

“It was suppose to be a surprise that I and Beyonce are performing with Usher when I open up the show.”

Welp, there goes the element of “surprise!”

Beyonce basically confirmed the nuptials between her and Jay-Z in a recent interview. She stated that while she doesn’t deny the wedding, you’ll never hear the words “Jay-Z and I got married on April 4, 2008″ come out of her mouth because that’s one of the things that keeps their relationship so strong … the fact that they don’t let the media get into their business. Good for them!

“I don’t deny it (the wedding). I just don’t talk about it. We’ve never talked about us and it’s kind of protected our relationship. I think it’s kept us out of tabloid drama. A lot of actresses that have had successful relationships don’t talk about them, so neither do I.”

This is about as close as you’re gonna get to a true confession, lol.

 American R&B singer songwriter Beyonce Knowles is reportedly set to retire from her singing career. Beyonce, who is 26-years-old, was in the news recently for having tied the knot with Jay-Z and she is now back in the limelight with news of an impending retirement.

According to what her cousin Angelica Knowles told sources, the diva is currently working on a new album, but it will be her last, New York Daily reported. Further, it seems that she will be spending her days scouting talent for her new hubby Jay-Z’s upcoming label, The Carter Music Group. Beyonce’s first protege is rumoured to be an R&B artist named Chelsea Thomas. None of her representatives could be reached for comments.

Beyonce is now off the target list of animal rights activists after she gave up wearing fur.

The singer has ben involved in a long-running dispute with PETA over her love of fur products but the group have now called off their campaign.

PETA called a truce with a letter and a gift of a faux fur rug which were sent to the singer, reports glamour.

After years of speculation, singer Beyoncé Knowles wed her longtime boyfriend, rapper Jay-Z, on Friday, a friend of the couple’s tells PEOPLE. Though there is no official confirmation, the friend says, “It happened earlier this evening. Jay wanted it to be a really private affair – close friends and family.” The ceremony was followed by a lavish party at the rapper’s Tribeca apartment that drew Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles, her father/manager Mathew, her sister Solange, her Destiny’s Child mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and the couple’s friend Gwyneth Paltrow.

The wedding buzz began when the couple went to get a marriage license at a village hall in Scarsdale, N.Y., on Tuesday. DJ Cassidy, a favorite of Jay-Z, was hired to spin. “Cassidy mentioned a week ago that he was really excited for Jay Z and Beyoncé’s wedding party to happen,” says another source. Early Friday morning, workers erected a white tent atop the building in Tribeca, where Jay-Z owns a penthouse apartment. Not long after, an SUV carrying what seemed to be AV equipment arrived, followed by deliveries of party rentals and flowers. A source tells PEOPLE that Amy’s Orchids was hired to provide 50,000 to 60,000 white orchid blooms from Thailand for a “big party.” At the apartment, waiters were seen practicing their service.

A couple since 2002, Jay-Z, 38, and Knowles, 26, always kept quiet about their relationship, even as they were photographed together on romantic holidays around the world. Still, marriage seemed to be in the cards – eventually. “I never pictured myself as a bride,” she told Cosmopolitan in January 2006, “but after my sister’s wedding, I did start thinking about what kind of wedding I’d want. I don’t think I want a big one.”

Beyoncé Knowles and longtime beau Jay-Z have taken out a marriage license in Scarsdale, N.Y., PEOPLE has learned. According to a source, the pair obtained a license Tuesday morning. The document is valid for 60 days. A rep for Beyoncé told PEOPLE, “No comment.” Jay-Z’s spokesperson could not be reached.

Beyoncé, 26, and Jay-Z, 38, have been dating since 2002, though the couple have stood reluctant to discuss their relationship publicly. Rumors about their romance began circulating after the singer appeared on Jay-Z’s song “‘03 Bonnie & Clyde,” followed by collaborations on Beyoncé’s solo hit “Crazy in Love,” in 2003.

While the two have remained tight-lipped about the state of their romance, by no means has Beyoné brushed off talk of marriage. In December 2006, the singer told InStyle, “You can’t rush a man into anything – whether it’s a relationship, marriage or having children.”

Earlier that month the pair were besieged by rumors that they were all set to get hitched in the Caribbean – a rumor that was quickly scotched by their reps.

Elba will play an asset manager with a hot wife (Knowles) and thriving career — until a temp office worker (Larter) begins stalking him. Director Steve Shill (NBC’s Knight Rider telepic) will helm from a script by David Loughery. Will Packer. Beyonce will executive produce along with her father, Mathew Knowles. She is also producing and co-starring as Etta James in Cadillac Records for Sony BMG. Larter is working on episodes of NBC’s Heroes. Elba next stars in Prom Night for Screen Gems.

Two weeks after Barack Obama delivered his “Yes We Can” speech in Nashua, New Hampshire, the Black Eyed Peas’ Will.I.Am assembled an all-star cast of musicians and actors (including Common, John Legend and Scarlett Johansson) to appear on his “remix” of the speech and the accompanying video, an arty, black-and-white clip that quickly became a YouTube sensation, racking up more than 4 million views. Now, two weeks after Obama delivered another speech — this one from his hometown of Chicago, after a triumphant Super Tuesday in which he won 14 states — Will is at it again, booking time in a Los Angeles studio to record yet another pro-Obama tune.

So far comedians/actors George Lopez and John Leguizamo have recorded spoken parts for the track, and a publicist for the project told MTV News Jessica Alba, Ryan Phillippe, Ben McKenzie, Macy Gray and the Black Eyed Peas’ Tabu are slated to participate. And rumor has it that Beyoncé is trying to clear up her schedule to make an appearance too. Beyonce Knowles will be coached for her role as Etta James in a forthcoming movie about blues label Chess Records by the singing legend herself. James is thrilled Knowles has been picked to play her in ‘Cadillac Records’, and is excited about her own role - as a special adviser to the R&B star-turned-actress. The 70-year-old, who is most famous for her timeless classic ‘I Just Wanna Make Love To You’, wasn’t sure the 26-year-old was up to the task, until she watched her rock the Grammy Awards last week in a duet with Tina Turner.

She tells PageSix.com: “I have my own way of putting those songs over, and I was just wondering if Beyonce could, and my son said, ‘They’re thinking about how she looks, but mama, she can really sing!’ It’s a privilege and an honour to have somebody like that girl. I don’t think she looks like me, but that’s all right. They can fix that up. I kinda have a man’s voice. It’s a contralto, more bluesy, religious. I would really like to work with her on that.”

Former heroin addict James claims Beyonce has a tough task, taking on her rollercoaster life, adding, “Oh my god, she’s going to have a hill to climb, because Etta James ain’t been no (sic) angel! I can tell Beyonce some things; some of the things I might not tell her. I wasn’t as bourgie as she is, she’s bourgeois. She knows how to be a lady, she’s like a model. I wasn’t like that… I smoked in the bathroom in school, I was kinda arrogant, so those are some of the things I would want to tell her.

Knowles, who will also act as executive producer on ‘Cadillac Records’, will join Adrien Brody, Jeffrey Wright, Cedric The Entertainer and Tammy Blanchard in the project, which begins shooting next month.
